Summary: The Regional Tournament Director oversees regional operations and events, including sales, marketing, and tournament operations within assigned regions. This role involves collaborating with the league and tournament department to develop and implement tournament strategies, operational systems, standards, and practices. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 

 

Tournament Planning and Management: 

  • Develop and manage an annual tournament schedule for the region. 
  • Coordinate with host centers to promote events, manage Pro-Ams, and secure local sponsorships. 
  • Oversee the lane maintenance program in the region. 

Sales and Sponsorship: 

  • Create and implement a regional sales plan, including researching leads, preparing sales packages and presentations, and conducting sales calls to potential sponsors. 
  • Solicit and secure host centers and sponsors, ensuring completion and delivery of signed contracts. 

Promotion and Public Relations: 

  • Collaborate with Bowlero PR staff to plan and execute promotional activities for regional events. 
  • Partner with PBA Licensing staff to sell PBA merchandise at regional events. 

Financial Management: 

  • Maintain financial records for regional transactions, including entry fees, merchandise sales, sponsorship revenue, prize fund distribution, contract labor fees, and other expenses. 
  • Track expenses incurred at tournament sites and during travel. 

Reporting and Communication: 

  • Provide accurate post-tournament reports and information to the Bowlero Support Center office. 
  • Update and maintain the regional section of the PBA website with schedules, tournament information, and results. 
  • Communicate with PBA membership at the grassroots level. 

Administrative and Support Functions: 

  • Complete assigned projects from senior management in a timely manner. 
  • Manage all meetings related to tournament information. 
  • Coordinate tournament committee meetings to review financial results and strategize for upcoming events. 
  • Assist PBA Sales, Marketing, and PR staff as needed. 
  • Participate in staff meetings and conference calls as scheduled. 

Work Schedule and Flexibility: 

  • Be available for varying shifts, weekends, holidays, and extended workdays to support business needs. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:  None 

 

Qualifications 

 

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with high integrity and respect for all individuals (customers, vendors, and employees). 
  • Excellent communication skills, critical and analytical thinking abilities, and appreciation of diversity (thought, ethnic, gender, etc.). 
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and develop people. 
  • Proficiency in profit and loss management, sales, and marketing. 

 

Education and Experience 

Required 

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) 
  • 3+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 

Work Environment/Physical Demands: Bowling center or office environment where you will walk, bend, and stand for periods of time, and may lift objects with some assistance. The noise level is typical for bowling.

The approximate pay rate for this position is $60,000 annually. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
